Welcome Aboard!

Ever feel out of place in your own desi-fied home? I certainly do, because our culture almost always contradicts with our beliefs and practices as a Muslim.

Don't get me wrong, culture is good... as long as it doesn't get labelled as "Islam" and stays within the bounds set by Allah (swt). But sadly, that is not the case.

My goal is to raise awareness about harmful cultural practices that have taken root in our homes and within ourselves. Such practices, some quite ancient, should have been weeded out long ago (so have your weed removal tools ready!).

Along with topics pertaining to the culture vs. deen issue, I'll also post other beneficial information inshallah. So keep reading and of course, keep weeding!
